Camden County, North Carolina

Camden County is home to the Great Dismal Swamp State Park and the Great Dismal Swamp Canal. Camden County features the North River Campground as well as several vacation rentals.

Currituck County surrounds the Currituck Sound and is home to the northern part of the Outer Banks, the Wild Horses of Corolla, and the Currituck Lighthouse. Currituck County features the Bells, Island Campground, Bed & Breakfasts, Vacation Rentals, and Hotels and Resorts.

North River Campground

Located in Shawborrow, North River Campground is conveniently located near the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the Historic Albemarle region of North Carolina and the Tidewater Region of Virginia

Bells Island Campground

Bells Island Campground has approximately 22 acres of land on the shores of the Currituck Sound. Furnishing patrons with a tent area, 39 full hook-up RV sites, 24 RV sites with water and electricity and a dumping station available. Restrooms and shower facility on site. Relax with a game of tennis, basketball or volleyball. Enjoy the water with fishing, crabbing, boating, sailing, and PWC. Theme: quiet, relax and appreciate the beauty of the Currituck Sound.

Barry’s Walnut Island

Walnut Island Restaurant and Lodge was established in 1958 as a Large Mouth Bass Fishing and Ducking Hunting Sportsman Paradise. Located on Dowdy’s Bay on Lower Currituck Sound, it faces north to the Currituck Beach Lighthouse at Corolla. Walnut Island has 12 Lodge Rooms that are attached to the Restaurant with covered access. Each room is “themed” and has a private bath, Cable TV, Free WiFi, Refrigerator, Coffee Maker, and hair dryer.
